Dwelling House Applications Brisbane

Brisbane City Council released some ‘Planning and Building Economic Recovery Initiatives’ in response to the COVID-19 impacts earlier this year, which was to reduce and/or waive some assessment fees for applications. We noted a spike in applications for alterations to dwelling houses and new dwelling houses, which normally attracts an assessment fee of $1,888.00. It is difficult to know if the increase to applications was in response to the assessment fees being reduced or if it was in response to people spending money ‘at home’, but it is nice to see some savings for our clients.

The fee reductions for dwelling house applications remains in place until 31 March 2021, which represents a saving of $944.00 (50% of the full fee).
